Now that you have the basics you need to start setting up your small Internet marketing business it’s time to start getting traffic to your squeeze page so you can start building your list and making some profit.

How do I get Traffic?

There are a lot of ways to get traffic. If you are in a great hurry you can start an adwords campaign on google. Since you are just getting started with your small Internet marketing business I would suggest didn’t. My first suggestion for an Internet marketing strategy is for you to initially concentrate on the free methods of traffic generations first.

Please understand when I say use this free Internet marketing strategy, I am talking about those methods that you can put to work for you that do not cost you money. As a small Internet marketing business I realize how little actual money most people have to spend when they first start up.

What Do FREE Internet Marketing Strategies Cost Me?

Though using free Internet marketing strategies you have to realize they are not truly free. These methods do cost you time and when first starting out they eat up a lot of your time. The amount of time is based on how good you are at each and how much time you have available to spend on the task.

What Free Internet Marketing Strategy Should I Start With?

The very first Internet marketing strategy I recommend is a blog. This may seem a little daunting to you to begin with but in truth it really isn’t. Blogging is like talking except no one is answering as you are writing. Hopefully they are answering with comments on your blog.

What Blog Platform Should I Use?

Before I get into the actual mechanics of blogging lets talk about the platform you will be using. If you have your own hosting at Host Gator as I recommended in the other posts then you have access to Fantastico, which is in your cPanel area.

From Fantastico you can simply click on wordpress blog and it will install the basic wordpress blog for you. Please understand that you will have to select and install all of the plugins that make wordpress the web 2.0 machine it can be.

I do that on this blog but I also maintain another blog. My other blog “http://simgarner.com/blog” is hosted on an i360 blog.  On my i360 blog everything is setup and maintained for me. If I have a problen I send in a support ticket and it is handled. That is a lot nicer than having to do it myself.

A i360 blog is a standard wordpress blog on steroids. It has all the built in features that are needed to start drawing traffic to your site immediately. Also if you have an i360 blog you can do without other hosting for the time being because it is built on a cPanel platform and will allow you to have redirects. Sales pages, one time offers and much more.

You could actually use your blog i360 site for everything. I suggest you take them up on their 30 day $1 trial and experience it for yourself. Once you get into using it you will not change.

Are Free Blogs  as Good As Having My Own Blog?

Another option is to use one of the free blogging platforms. Wordpress.com, thejv.press.com and blogger.com just to name a few.

These are all good sites and will bring you traffic. My recommendation from the top down  is blogger i360, next would be your own wordpress blog on your hosting and third would be a free site and at the moment I think Blogger.com takes it in the free blogs.

You just do not have the flexibility with a site controlled by someone else. You do have more control at some of the free blogging sites than others but just remember, the free sites are only free because they make money off of the traffic you bring to them.

In my next post I will get into posting and other parts of blogging for traffic to create profit for your small Internet marketing business.
