Branding Your Internet Affiliate Marketing Business.

Let’s take a look at what we have accomplished so far.

  1. You selected your niche market

  2. You defined your perfect customer

  3. You selected one great product from that niche to promote

  4. You created a series of email promotions that also deliver value

  5. You setup your email automatic responder

  6. You setup your squeeze page

Now you are ready to start getting traffic to your squeeze page. You really have only one thing left to do to make your promotions professional. You need to get a domain name.

Now your decision on a domain name will depend on how you are setting up your initial business. If you have decided to go with Squeeze Page Pro or Marketing Makeover Generator then you will need a domain name that is similar to the name of the product you are promoting.

Lets say you are promoting Matthew Glanfield and his BBO Traffic Formula series. You could see if trafficformula.com was available. If not .com try .net, .biz or one of the others. You could also try variations on the name using your, best or something else in that category.

Another way to do it is to go ahead and get your hosting service setup. You are going to need hosting to build much of a business so why not get it now. This way you could use a redirect for the product and brand your website in the process.

In this way you would have something like, www.yourname.com/recommends/traffic-formula.html or php depending on the script you use. This way you could set up a folder on your site called recommends and put all your redirects in it.

If this sounds complicated it isn’t. All you need is a hosting service and the ability to put a small HTML or PHP code on the site to redirect your file to the affiliate link.

An HTML redirect looks like this:

<html>

<head>

<meta http-equiv=”refresh“

content=”0;url=http://youraffiliatelink.com”>

</head>

</html>

A PHP redirect looks like this:

<?php header(”Location: put the url you want to redirect to here”); ?><html><head><title>redirect</title><meta http-equiv=Content-Type content=”text/html; charset=iso-8859-1″></head><body></body></html>

Be 100% accurate with the spacing and semicolons, as you see above.

Using the File Manager in your web host’s cPanel (yourname.com/cpanel), create a directory inside the public_html folder. Call the directory recommends or anything else you decide. In that folder create a short, keyword-based file. Upload the PHP file (same name as file created in the directory) or copy and paste the HTML code with your affiliate link in it to the file you just created.

You will then promote www.yourname.com/recommends/keyword as your affiliate link.
