A light bulb on Affiliate marketing and building a list.

Have you ever been listening to something and all of a sudden an idea just jumps out at you. Well this very thing happened to me just a couple of days ago.

When that light bulb went off I stopped what I was doing and wrote down a few notes. I couldn’t get started working on the idea right then but I had to do something to make sure I didn’t loose it. That is why I wrote it down.

To give you the picture I have to go back a couple of weeks.

I elected to take part in an on line seminar touted as being a virtual seminar. They setup a virtual lobby by way of a forum with a thread noted as JV partner request.

Now I personally love the idea of having those that are new to internet marketing, have an area where they can post a little about a joint venture they proposition. Then as they get a response they can have a private chat or maybe even talk over the phone.

At any rate the idea is great, getting others to act on it aren’t that easy. You see people have a tendency to believe others will shaft them given the chance.

Now I wonder where they could have gotten such a biased idea.

To get back to mys original line of thought as part of the package I bought resell rights to the seminar recordings.

The second speaker in the series was Derrick VanDyke. His presentation really hit home for me. He gave a 10 step formula he would use if he had to start all over from zero today with only $100 to start with.

As you may be aware one of the first things you need to really start building an internet business, specially if it’s in affiliate marketing, is a list. With even a small list of responsive customers you can make a little money and, most important, leverage that list using JV partners to build it bigger and bigger.

There are several ways to get traffic to your site in a hurry. The thing is, to get solid targeted traffic, takes time, money or both. Well with just a $100 you don’t have money and if you are in a hurry you don’t have time.

What do you think Derricks answer was to get around these problems?

It was something that a lot of internet and affiliate marketers consider some what controversial. He build his whole 10 step campaign specifically to turn Co-registration leads from just leads to subscriber to customers and told how he would do it step-by-step.

It was fascinating. With the methods he used, with just a hundred or so a month, depending on how fast you want to grow or how much money you are willing to invest,he was starting his business with the intention to be able to get JV partners within the first month.

I know it sounds impossible. The way of doing it and making it pay for itself just didn’t sink in. That is where the flash of insight came in. See there are several ways of making it pay for itself, if you have an established site already up and running.

Well what if you are new to affiliate marketing?

That is where my idea came in. You have to have a way of getting your co-registration leads to move themselves from the coreg list to your subscribe list and from there to your customer list.

I just couldn’t seem to get the how of it until I listened to Martin Slater, a successful affiliate marketer from down under, gave his presentation on how to setup a sequence of steps to promote and sell a product, whether you have resell rights or as an affiliate marketer.

From his presentation the idea just jumped into place.

I am not a web designer or a copy writer so it took me about 15 hours to setup the little system I thunk up, actually it was basically given to me by Martin, I just put a different spin on it.

I have it up and running now so we will see over the next month or so, if it will work. I also plan to use the same system to build a good relationship with everyone on my list.

PS. Take the plunge, the cost is very minor and the product you get is worth way more than you pay for it. After you take the plunge come back here and leave your comments on what you think of the system and if you plan to set one up.
